Day 11:

My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you  may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the  Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our  sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.  (1 John 2:1-2)

It’s almost a pat answer to say, “If you get off the path, the Bible’s helpful  in getting you back on.” But what exactly does that mean? What exactly  is the path?

Scripture tells us the path is God’s instruction. The Bible tells us what  is right and what is wrong, because it’s the road map for life. And if  you don’t understand the heart behind the message, you might look at  God’s law through worried eyes, thinking that God’s gonna get you if  you do something wrong.

But that’s not the grace-filled message of the Bible. The message of the  Bible is that God’s Son took your place on the cross, and you are now  clothed in his righteousness because God loves you and wants what’s  best for you!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for instructing me daily through  your Word. And when I sin, help me to realize that Jesus is the propitiation  for my sins!
