Day 20:

Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers,  against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world  and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God. (Eph 6:12-13)

Many attempts have been made to classify the demonic forces of darkness  the apostle Paul identifies in Ephesians, chapter 6. And while most of the  classifications are speculative, Paul wants us to know that Satan works  through evil forces that are in this dark world—right before our eyes.

Wicked leaders, decadent pursuits, poverty and materialism. The Evil  One parades around as an angel of light, blinding us to the devastating  effects of those forces, while deluding and distracting us with selfish  interests. Most of the time, we accept these evils for the sake of personal  liberty, power, or pleasure.

But Paul reminds us that we are not to be influenced by the enemy’s  power and pervasive deceit. Instead, we are to cling to our faith in the  one true God!

Prayer: Father, help me not to be distracted or deluded by Satan’s evil  forces. Instead, may your spiritual armor protect me from my enemies!
